Calcutta Leather Complex (CLC) - the world's largest integrated state-of-the-art leather complex is being set up on 1100 acres of land at Karaidanga, P.S. Bhangar, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, on the Calcutta Basanti State Highway, about 14 km. from the Science City, Eastern Metropolitan Bypass.

Teaming up as a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) partner with the Government of West Bengal, M.L. Dalmiya & Co. Ltd. (MLD) has remained steadfast in its commitment to make this - the world's largest, happen, and happen on time.

In spirit, MLD's commitment embraces much larger concerns. The need to create a greener, cleaner Calcutta, for one. To provide world class facilities and infrastructure to relocating tanneries from Calcutta as well as new tanneries and allied industries, for another. And, indeed, to create for the world at large, a 1,100 acre transnational hub for the leather and allied units.

CLC, spread over a sprawling 1100 acres of land, is designed and implemented to house the entire leather industry, starting from basic raw material units to those producing chemicals, manufacturing & servicing leather machinery, processing finished leather as well as components. Calcutta Leather Complex also includes manufacturing units of various sizes producing footwear, garments, upholstery, industrial gloves, bags, and accessories.

CLC is envisioned and poised to be the world's largest single-site production and export base for leather and allied industries.
